🌿 Bethel Star Academy Champions Cleanliness: A Step Toward a Safer Tomorrow

In a refreshing display of community spirit and environmental consciousness, Bethel Star Academy, located in Anyaa, took a bold step toward promoting a cleaner and safer environment. On Friday, 31st October 2025, the school organized a remarkable clean-up exercise along the Anyaa School Junction to the Market Terminal, as part of its maiden Health and Sanitation Week, held under the inspiring theme: “Sanitation for a Safer Tomorrow.”

Community Collaboration in Action

The exercise brought together students, teachers, and community members, all united by a single goal — to make Anyaa cleaner and safer. Starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 12:00 p.m., the activity saw active participation from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Anyaa Zonal Council, which provided safety oversight and guidance throughout the event.

NADMO’s involvement highlighted its proactive mantra, “Prevention Pays,” emphasizing the importance of preventive measures in promoting safety, health, and environmental sustainability.

Hands That Care for the Environment

Armed with gloves, brooms, and waste bags, students of Bethel Star Academy demonstrated great enthusiasm and teamwork. Every litter and refuse along the route was collected, leaving the surroundings noticeably cleaner.

Some students carried placards with educational and thought-provoking messages such as : “My health, My Responsibility “ , “Cleanliness is Everyone’s Responsibility” and “Keep Our Community Safe and Healthy.” Their passion and commitment reflected the school’s dedication to nurturing responsible citizens who value their environment.

Leaders Commend the Initiative

The clean-up exercise was graced by the Presiding Member, Mr. Michael Acquah, who commended the school’s leadership for organizing such a timely and meaningful event. He stressed the importance of instilling good sanitation practices in children, adding that clean habits formed early help shape a healthier society.

The NADMO Zonal Director, Mr. Samuel Aidoo, also addressed participants, applauding the collaboration between the school and local stakeholders. He reiterated that “a cleaner community is a safer community,” and encouraged the continuity of such initiatives across the Anyaa enclave.

A Successful Beginning

The clean-up exercise marked more than just the collection of waste — it symbolized a renewed commitment to environmental stewardship, preventive safety, and community unity. For Bethel Star Academy, this event set a solid foundation for what promises to become an annual tradition of environmental education and civic engagement.

As the morning came to a close and the streets gleamed cleaner, one message stood out clearly: sustainable change begins with small, consistent actions.

Indeed, as the theme declares, “Sanitation for a Safer Tomorrow” is not just a slogan — it’s a shared responsibility and a call to action for all to contribute toward a cleaner, healthier, and safer community.
