Ga Central Municipality Undertakes Major Clean-Up and Desilting Exercise at Ablekuma
GA CENTRAL MUNICIPALITY UNDERTAKES MAJOR CLEAN-UP AND DESILTING EXERCISE AT ABLEKUMA CURVE. From 12th to 15th December 2025, the Ga Central Municipal Assembly, through the Anyaa Zonal Council, successfully carried out a large-scale clean-up and desilting exercise aimed at improving drainage, sanitation, and flood resilience within the municipality. The exercise was coordinated by the Anyaa Zonal Council Secretary, Ms Abigail Abbey, with critical technical assistance and supervision provided by NADMO – Anyaa Zonal Office. The initiative was implemented in partnership with K-Tech Wellness Foundation and supported by contracted workers, all working collaboratively to address a long-standing environmental and drainage challenge in the area. Target Area and Scope of Work The clean-up and desilting focused on the heavily choked drain stretching from the Ablekuma Curve, through the Ga Rural Bank area, and extending towards the MTN Office.
